Doric burial vaults are backed by a full manufacturer's warranty ranging from 100 to 50 years. Ask your funeral professional for warranty details.

You can depend on the quality and strength of Doric polyribbed plastic lined-concrete burial vaults. Through the years, improvements to Doric's original concrete-lined-with-fiberglass design have made Doric burial vaults stronger and more protective. Now, the product of choice is space age plastics for strength and quality. The following special features help to set Doric burial vaults apart from all others in performance and durability.

Polyribs in Liners

Doric is the only manufacturer in the industry to construct its liners with special reinforcing polyribs for added rigidity. The seamless, water-resistant polyribbed plastic inner liner gives Doric burial vaults added protection from the earth's elements.

Addition of Fibers

The Bronze, Lydian and Athenian models and the Phoenix have fibers added to the plastic for additional strength.

Triple and Double Wall Construction

Three layers of protection on the Bronze, Lydian and Athenian models and two layers of protection on the Patrician, Phoenix, Tiara and Titan models utilize the strength characteristics of each liner material. This assures casket protection from the weight of the earth and heavy cemetery maintenance equipment passing over the grave and reduces the risk of the intrusion of exterior elements.

All Doric models use high quality concrete specially formulated to achieve great compressive strength in the outer wall, resisting loads of 5,000 pounds per square inch. Concrete is the ideal material for burial vaults because it actually becomes stronger when it is buried in a moist, subsoil environment. A Doric lined-concrete burial vault buried years ago is stronger today than it was the day of the committal. A concrete burial vault weighs as much as an automobile.

The second layer is reinforced plastic chemically bonded to the concrete wall of the base and cover. In the Bronze, Lydian and Athenian models, the third, or metal layer adds beauty and strength.

Types of Plastics Used in Inner Liners

The Bronze, Lydian and Athenian models use ABS Fiberlon®. This Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a strong plastic with greatly enhanced impact and tensile strength and is reinforced with fibers for added protection and strength. ABS is used in telephone set casings, NFL football helmets and snowmobile casings.

The Patrician model uses ABS Lustra-Tech. Another ABS plastic, this high-impact, high-gloss material has a bonded acrylic overlay for the classic look of marble.

The Phoenix model uses Fiberlon®, a super high-impact fiber filled polystyrene which evidences great impact and compressive strengths. It is used in luggage, large children's toys and construction items.

The Tiara and Titan models use Durapreme®, a high impact polystyrene that exhibits good toughness and has excellent flexural strength. It is used in tableware, refrigerator and freezer lines and audio/video cassettes.

Integra-Bond®

The Integra-Bond adhesive is Doric's special bonding system which bonds the plastic inner liner to the burial vault's concrete wall and cover, and on Doric premium models, bonds the metal inner liner to the plastic inner liner.

Integra-Seal®

All Doric burial vaults use a butyl compound in the seal groove that merges base and cover to form a single sealed unit. This butyl compound is highly resistant to extreme fluctuations in temperature.

Decorative Features

The outer surface of the Doric burial vault is coated and highlighted by hand for a lustrous finish. The color of the burial vault can complement the family's casket selection. Elegant bar handles or six decorative handles (depending on the model) add beauty to the burial vault. A coordinating nameplate that can include the name and dates of birth and death of the deceased can add distinction and security. An emblem reflecting the deceased's religious beliefs, fraternal membership or military background can be chosen as well.
